Application procedure

1. The competition is open to formed ensembles of singers up to 30 years of age and pianists up to 27 years of age, graduates or students of high level musical institutions.

2. Applications must be sent no later than

List of required documentation to be presented by singer and pianist :

1. Competition application form
2. Copies of front pages of applicants passports
3. Copy of Diploma for graduates or official confirmation of studying for students


Curriculum Vitae must contain:
1. Name and surname, titles and posts of teachers of main studies and chamber music
2. Laureates and diplomas of honor of competitions if any
3. Current occupation
4. A studio portrait photograph close shot sized 9 to 12 cm of each member of duet separately
5. All documents can be sent in English, French, Russian, Polish and Italian languages

The Competition procedure

1. Those accepted as participants of the competition will be sent an invitation no later 15 May 2009 to their e-mail address with the starting date of the competition. The invitation will be sent by ordinary mail only to citizens of countries requiring french entry visa.
2. Entry fee of 70€ for each member of the duet ( 140€ in total). In case of cancellation the entry fee will not be reimbursed.
3. All travel (two-way trip), accommodation and food expenses are at the charge of the competitors or the sponsoring organizations.

On site accomodation

Each competitor and accompanist is taken in charge on the arrival to the premises of the competition. The fee for full board service is 900€ per person. The fee includes:
" Full comfort accommodation
" Full board in buffet style
" Access to the library, tea room and cafeteria
" Several pianos available for training and rehearsal, following a fixed schedule
" Free access to conferences, talk show, master-classes, organized during the time of competition.
" Meeting and discussion with others competitors and the members of the jury

The jury members will be outstanding lyric artists and professors from all over the world.

The Committee has the right :

Competition repertoire :

The competitors have to perform the songs and arias selected from the given list:

A - Repertoire of songs : Dvorak, Moniuszko and Tchaïkovsky (except the Children’s Songs, the Florentine songs will be performed in Italian language, the songs dedicated to Désire Arto will be performed in French ).

B - Repertoire of arias from slav operas composers :

The competitors will prepare four arias selected from following operas:

1. Borodin :« Prince Igor »
2. Glinka :«Life for the Tsar », Russlan and Ludmilla »
3. Dargomijsky :« The Stone Guest »
4. Dvorak : « Dimitrij », »The Jakobin », « Kate and the devil » « Vanda », « Rusalka »
5. Kovarovic: “The doghead”
6. Moniuszko :« Halka », »The Haunted Manor », “ The Contessa”
7. Napravnik : « Dubrovsky »
8. Paderewski : « Manru »
9. Rymski-Korsakov :« Sadko », »The legend of the invisible city of Kitezh », « Sniegourotchka (The snow maiden) »
10. Smetana : « The Bartered Bride », »Dalibor », « The secret », »Libouse »
11. Flotov : « Martha »
12. Tchaïkovski : « Eugene Onegin », « Mazepa », « Dame de pique » and « Iolanta ».
13. Janacek : « Katia Kabanova », »From the House of Dead », »Fate », « The cunning little Vixen »,”Jenufa”
14. Szymanovski: “King Roger”

Auditions :

- The auditions are open to the public and consist of three rounds :

1. First round for all competitors
2. Second round : selection of half competitors from the first round
3. Third and last round: maximum 16 competitors will be selected


• During the first and second rounds the competitors will perform two songs and two arias. The second round performed works must be different from the first ones.
• At the third round the competitors will perform during 30 minutes and the three works performed can be those selected from the first two rounds.
• After the third round the jury will designate the prizes.
• The competitors will get their own sheet music and will perform in original language.
• All works are performed by heart.

• During the competition the participants will perform strictly according to the drawing (which takes place before the competition opening).
• The competitor is allowed a 15 minutes rehearsal (in the concert hall).
• The Jury has the right to reduce or interrupt a performance which exceeds the agreed time limit and in case of an obvious failure of the performance, upon unanimous decision of the Jury.
• The Jury decisions are final and cannot be modified.
• The winners and the holders of diplomas of Honor of the competition must take part in two to three concerts at the closing of the competition.
• The organizing committee of the competition reserves the right to broadcast the final concerts on radio and television, to record them on audio and video tapes and CD and to distribute them without obligations of reimbursing the costs to the participants of the competition. The direction reserves the right to sign additional contracts with other companies in order to distribute the above mentioned material of the competition.
