The First Slav Music International Piano Competition

The First international competition for young pianists, organized in France by the
Association Stanislaw Moniuszko under the artistic direction of the famous
musician and pianist Clara Moniuszko, has aroused great interest amongst musicians
in Europe and America and has now firmly established itself for years to come.
The competition, named after one of the most famous slav musicians, has helped to identify a great many talented and promising young musicians from across the world including from Russia, Ukraine, Denmark, Germany, France and Costa Rica.
The participants, their teachers and parents, were able to discover one of Normandy’s
most picturesque beauty spots : the Moulin d’Andé, where they spent the first week of July. The organisers, through care and hospitality, strove to make their stay as pleasant and enjoyable as possible.
Slav music is an important part of the world’s musical patrimony, and
France as a guardian of world cultural heritage is an ideal host for fora such as these.
